Introduction to IPT
WARNING! This event has passed.
15th May 2010

We are pleased to present a one-day workshop: An Introduction to IPT

by Roslyn Law

Venue: King's College, London (Franklin Wilkins Building)

Date: Saturday 15th May, 2010

Time: 9:30am to 4pm

This forthcoming workshop, led by Roslyn Law, will provide an introduction to Interpersonal Psychotherapy - a brief, interpersonally focused therapy which was originally developed as an intervention for depression in adults.  IPT has subsequently been used across the age range and for a number of presenting difficulties, including eating disorders and post traumatic reactions.  This session will provide an opportunity to explore the commonalities and differences between this approach and CAT, and to consider how practice in each may be informed by the other.  Participants are encouraged to bring clinical material to discuss and to examine different approaches to working with common presentations related to interpersonal difficulties and psychological and emotional distress.

Roslyn is the national lead for IPT in IAPT and the Chair of IPTUK.  She is director of the IPT course at the Anna Freud Centre and has been an IPT practitioner and supervisor in a range of NHS settings, including specialist services for eating disorders, post traumatic stress and sexual health.  She is also a CAT practitioner.
