One Day Introduction to Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)

This one day introduction to CAT is being held on

Venue: The Oak Room, Westheath House, Bodmin, Cornwall

The aim of this course is to provide a clear introduction to the practice of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).  It will provide an opportunity for participants to evaluate their interest in Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

Learning Aims:
For participants to learn about and explore some of the key ideas of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) as a psychotherapeutic approach, to include: -   

-          The CAT model of brief therapy
-          Client suitability for CAT
-          ‘Reformulation’ of client issues (traps, dilemmas and snags)
-          ‘Reciprocal roles’ and diagrams
-          The therapeutic relationship (being in the room with clients)

Learning Objectives:
For participants to be taught the above through: -
- Presentation
- Video case material
- Small group work / group discussion

For participants to have evaluated their interest in CAT.  For participants to feel able to apply some of the concepts within their own clinical practice.

Suitable for: Counsellors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers and others interested in using and doing CAT.
