Active CAT - Skills in Making Maps
6th Nov 2010

Date:  Saturday, 6 November, 2010

Time:  10.00 - 17.00

Venue: Room T010, Regent's College Conference Centre, Inner Circle, Regent's Park, London, NW1 4NS

The day will offer training in the skills of developing diagrams and writing in the session, side-by-side with the client as a joint activity.  It will focus on different types of diagrams: sketches, life-maps, identity maps, therapy diagrams and team maps. It will focus also on the therapeutic and educational moments that arise from this jointly creative work.  It will explore how ‘on the spot’ shared prose writing of procedural sequences can help deepen emotional connection with recognition and revision of patterns.  It will demonstrate the enactments that can arise through the lively relational connections of shared activity.  It will describe when working this way is best brought to the foreground or left in the background of the therapeutic relationship.  Examples of using joint sketching for supervision of therapy, reflective practice and relational skills training with teams will be discussed.

Of interest to:  The day is likely to be of interest to all kinds of people using CAT as therapists, consultants, trainers or supervisors

Trainer:  Steve Potter is a trainer, supervisor and therapist who has taught CAT to a wide variety of groups.

This event is 5 CPD hours.

Please note lunch is not included.
