IAPT SMI demonstration site

A one year course accessible to High Intensity IAPT Therapists and other professions with prior training in psychological therapies, that equips trainees with CAT skills and competencies for working with patients in a primary care (IAPT) setting or equivalent level of complexity. The course may also be attractive to doctors in training, clinical psychologists and others keen to expand on their CAT skills within their existing practice. The course is comprised of:

:  Eleven training days (spread over the year)
:  Four supervised CAT cases
:  One essay
:  One case-study
:  One personal development session on the use of self in clinical work

The award is accredited as an ACAT Skills Certificate course.

The ACAT Certificate in Cognitive Analytic Practice will provide foundation year credit towards the further training, clinical experience and personal therapy necessary for accreditation as an ACAT accredited CAT Practitioner.

Course Commences:  14 November 2014

The cohort of trainees will comprise of 8 High Intensity IAPT Therapists seconded from Somerset Partnership and will also be open to a further 8 candidates, who may be external to the Trust. The cost to non-seconded candidates will be £1,900 for the course.
