CATALYSE : : Class Acts
20th January 2012

WARNING! This event has passed.

Steve Potter and Cheryl Delisser will be leading this Catalyse 1-day CPD workshop 'Class Acts' which takes place at Manchester's Imperial War Museum on 20th January. The course looks at developing awareness, work effectiveness and increased self-worth by mapping each other's class background.

Context: effectiveness and satisfaction depends greatly on social skills   A focus on social class background is an excellent and rewarding way of developing these skills using dialogmaps based on CAT methods.  Social, group and identity factors are as important as psychological and personality factors in determining good working relationships, leadership skills and teamwork.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain these outcomes:

1.  New skills in working with and understanding social diversity through a focus on social class background

2.  A framework for reflecting upon how your own class background influences your own and others effectiveness at work

3.  Simple techniques in mapping and talking in small groups based on dialogmaps which can be applied to a wide variety of problems and situations for individuals, groups and organisations.

4.  The course will be of interest for anyone working in health, welfare and educational professions or in management and leadership roles.

There are still some places available.

Please note the fee has been reduced from £65 down to £45.00.
