INTERPERSONAL GROUP (IPG) FACILITATOR

Re•Vision is seeking to appoint an experienced group process facilitator for the
Foundation Year/Stage I of the Counselling Diploma Training. Applicants must be
UKCP registered, BACP accredited or have an equivalent accredited training with at
least two years post-qualification experience.

Job Description

Current Fee: £115 per three hours session plus £110 training team meeting p.a.
Permanent positionTime: Sundays 2.00-5.00pm monthly Foundation Year training weekends
Location: Re•Vision and one session at Re•Vision’s Winter Residential January 2012
Contract: October 2011-July 2012

Summary of Job
To contribute to the provision and delivery of the Foundation Year/Stage I
Counselling Diploma Training, including IPG facilitation and assessment.
This post requires facilitating students’ interpersonal relationships and enabling
students to clear issues as they arise. Interpersonal groups are, by example and
implicitly, a learning experience in terms of developing relating skills for individual
counselling.
Interpersonal groups are run in accordance with the house-style at Re•Vision.
The main objectives of the Interpersonal Groups are:
To develop the linking of intra-personal awareness with that of the inter-personal
To develop the capacity to be present to and reflect on challenging feelings
To recognise and, where appropriate own, projection and transference
To increase sensitivity to others’ vulnerabilities and strengths
To facilitate the exploration of vulnerable emotions in relationships
To increase the willingness to appropriately challenge.
The post will include participating in the assessment of students with written
feedback at the mid and end of academic year.
The IPG facilitator will also keep up to date student attendance records and other
records.

As a member of a team the IPG facilitator is expected to debrief the monthly group
sessions with team members and must attend three training team meetings
throughout the year. As a new member of the training team we ask that you get
managerial supervision of your work from an existing group facilitator at Re•Vision.
The IPG facilitator reports to Stage I Training Co-ordinator and is accountable to the
Training Committee.
The IPG facilitator is expected to comply with all Re•Vision policies and procedures
as set out in the Student Handbook and Staff Handbook.
Occasional attendance at staff business and professional development meetings is
also expected.
Person Specification
UKCP registered or BACP accredited or equivalent training
Two years post-qualification experience
Previous experience in running interpersonal process groups, preferably with
relevant further professional development or training
Previous experience of work in a training capacity
Good communication and IT skills
Experience of being a member of a training team
Experience of student assessment - desirable
