We were sorry that Annie Nehmad stepped down as co-Events Co-ordinator at the end of last year. However we are indebted to her for having launched a very helpful and comprehensive feedback evaluation form for events, which we will be using from now on. Meanwhile I am helping John Bristow to set up a series of workshops for this year and 2005, and you will find on page 30 of this issue an advertisement for someone who might be interested to help us with this. It’s a rewarding role, so we hope that we may have a response!

Now that the ACAT website is successfully launched, Jon Sloper gives here an introduction as to how we can use it for CPD purposes. This is an exciting resource, and I hope you will enjoy using it.

CPD at ACATonline

At ACATonline there are a number of new and enhanced CPD services for members who are looking for resources to meet their needs.

1. There is a comprehensive list of events and training on offer through ACAT. Information on seminars, workshops and further practical training is all listed on the site.
2. There is a growing body of literature on CAT to be found online, ultimately including the entirety of the ACATnews and Reformulation archives, along with many other articles written on CAT. These are fully searchable, so you can easily find the article you want on the topic of your choice. At the end of each reference is a list of related reading too, to broaden and deepen the information on your subject.
3. There is a CPD notice board on the site. This allows anyone who is practising CAT to add information, ideas and questions about CPD to a current list of entries online. You can post information about courses you have heard about or are running yourself, or raise questions and ideas about new CPD events that you might like to see happen in the future. Any current member of ACAT can have a look and participate in this forum.
4. As of this week there is now a fully featured Bulletin Board for ACAT on the site too. These are subdivided into different Forums for the different interest groups in CAT. There is one for Council, one for Practitioners and another for Supervisors, as well as many others. Every member of ACAT is invited to participate in the discussions and information-exchange that is enabled by this service. It gives a chance to share ideas, comments, questions and best practice. The direct address for the Bulletin Board is www.acat.me.uk/phpBB2/ and you will also find links to the Bulletin Board on the main ACATonline website. Once you’ve registered, apply for membership of the relevant UserGroups to gain access to the specialist forums of your choice. If you have any questions get in touch.
