This is a new and flexible role and the hours are likely to be 10 hours initially over a month to gain familiarity with the ACAT library, and then approximately two hours monthly on a schedule agreed with the post holder.  This will be reviewed with the post holder after 6 months.

This role will focus on providing virtual reference support to enhance the online bibliography held by the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and accessible by members and trainees undertaking therapy training. Working with the webmaster you would update our existing bibliography listing of works on CAT and schedule a regular maintenance and review cycle and present the information in a useable format for members. This position requires subject specific knowledge in health, mental health, psychology and psychotherapy and appropriate data bases, including NHS Athens. In addition, you may be invited to assist in providing virtual reference support to members on ACAT projects.

Essential Functions

•             Maintain the ACAT web-based collection on the ACAT website accessible to members.

•             Work collaboratively with ACAT Committees, Admin team and Webmaster.

•             Bring expertise to further develop this bibliography service to members.

•             You may be invited to assist in providing virtual reference support on other ACAT projects.

Required Skills

•             Mastery of online searching skills utilising databases, library catalogue and open web.

•             Proficiency with current and emerging library and educational technologies.

•             Ability to interact and build rapport with ACAT Committee members in a friendly, professional and timely manner through electronic media and video-conferencing.

•             Customer service skills.

•             Verbal and written communication skills.

•             Ability to work efficiently both with and without direct supervision.

•             A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

•             Interpersonal skills with ability to interact with people within the ACAT organisation, fostering strong teamwork and positive attitudes.

•             Ability to be a team player by sharing information and offering assistance to colleagues.

•             Ability to offer thoughtful contributions at meetings and the ability to respect others regardless of differences.

Education and Experience

•             Demonstrated proficiency providing virtual reference and bibliographic service.

•             Appropriate education in librarian services (desirable).

•             Experience providing reference service in an institution (desirable).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

•             Requires a reliable high speed Internet connection to support working with the ACAT website, the online library/bibliography and video-conferencing tools.

•             A dedicated work space within place of residence and the capability to telecommute.

•             Ability to work in a collegial team environment that stresses co-operative endeavours and encourages exploration.
