Senior Clinical Educator – Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Training Coordinator - Melbourne, Australia

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Grade 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse and Grade 4 Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.

Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital's NorthWestern Mental Health Service, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 24 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.

As one of Orygen’s specialist clinical programs, the Helping Young People Early (HYPE) program provides early intervention for young people with Personality Disorder (PD). The HYPE service development program works alongside the HYPE specialist clinical and research programs to provide specialist training in relational approaches to clinicians and other professionals who work with young people with PD and related difficulties. The HYPE team run specialist psychotherapy training, providing training programs leading to accreditation by the Australian and New Zealand Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ANZACAT) as a Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner.  

Your new role:

  • oversee the management of the student records, manage the enrolments, and organise the CAT teaching team and CAT supervisor
  • Coordinate the curriculum, the enrolment of students, the teaching, supervision and assessment processes of the CAT psychotherapy training program
  • Develop and deliver training programs and follow up supervision in relational approaches to clinicians both within and external to Orygen
  • Liaise with and build partnerships with other CAT training programs and associations, within Australia and internationally.

About you:

  • You have at least ten years' experience in mental health, and considerable experience supervising mental health clinicians and taking a senior role in managing a multidisciplinary team.
  • You are a CAT Practitioner and CAT supervisor, accredited with Australian and New Zealand Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ANZACAT) or equivalent national CAT association.
  • You have experience developing and delivering teaching and professional development activities, preferably some experience, consulting and delivering training in the CAT relational model.
  • You are keen to use your highly developed clinical and organisational skills and innovative ideas to enhance the CAT Training program.
