Newcastle upon Tyne [Anna Jellema]

I expect to have a few vacancies for new clients from January/February 2019. I give priority to ACAT training therapies.

I am an ACAT Psychotherapist, ACAT Supervisor and CAT trainer, and am also registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist. I worked for over 20 years in the NHS in primary and secondary adult mental health settings, latterly heading up a small specialist CAT service.  I have also worked for Relate as a counsellor and sex therapist, and as a student counsellor in further education. I now have a small private practice in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I am experienced in working  with adults presenting with a range of difficulties, including relationship problems of all kinds, bereavement, depression, stress, anxiety and mood problems, eating disorders (not anorexia), personality difficulties, abuse, suicidality and self-harm, couple and sexual difficulties, work-related issues, and physical health/psychosomatic  problems. I specialise in offering therapy to public sector workers, including NHS staff.
I also offer training therapies to ACAT Practitioner and Psychotherapy trainees, and I am available to D. Clin. Psy.  trainees wishing to undertake personal therapy – please contact me for further details.
Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more, or to discuss whether CAT might be able help you. I always offer an initial phone contact first, followed by an assessment session, which also helps us find out what it might be like for us to work together if you do decide to embark on therapy.  If CAT doesn’t seem right for you then we’ll discuss how to get the help you need, either privately or via the NHS if necessary.
