Appeal for a New Treasurer for ACAT

I wonder if there is someone within our network who can help Council find a Treasurer?

It really is among the most vital roles in the maintenance of the Association. The Treasurer is a full council member, though doesn't need to be a CAT practitioner, and may well be someone with an interest in psychotherapy but a background in finance, banking or management.

The Treasurer's role is to keep an overview of the business of the association and provide a moderating and supportive role to both the ACAT administrator and to the work of council and its committees. He or she will need to be able to attend council meetings and keep in touch by email and occasional visits to the ACAT office.

Following the excellent work done by Caroline Dower, the audit of the accounts on a formal basis now, and the upgrading of the database to a more manageable and flexible accounts package, the role of treasurer is not one that necessarily requires a great deal of familiarity with book-keeping. For the interested accountancy novice initial training would be provided. Please contact me through the ACAT Office with any offers of help in finding someone or suggestions or offers to take the role. Many thanks,

Steve Potter
