Workshop with Tim Sheard Tuesday 11 December in Newport
This workshop is an exploration of how we may begin creatively to use engagement with our own embodiment as therapists to free up stuck or overwhelming process with challenging clients. This workshop will:
· Introduce and give the opportunity to practise specific embodiment techniques that participants can take away and begin to use in their work
· Give insight into ways we may be taking on burdens from our clients and carrying them inside our bodies. This may result in tiredness, exhaustion, even burnout
· Begin to explore how embodiment skills may open up a new clarity and also mediate healthy self to self reciprocal roles such that therapists are resourced to engage with themselves and with clients in a way that supports a reduction of therapeutic burdening
· Begin to open up perhaps new perspectives on therapeutic and relational space, containment and how relationship may be mediated through embodied presence
The workshop is mainly experiential, focused on individual exercises, although some theoretical understandings will be woven in to the process.
Cost £85 including lunch.
