The Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Division of Clinical Psychology of the British Psychological Society have just published a report “Psychological Therapies and People with Intellectual Disabilities”.
This has been written to help identify and meet the emotional and mental health needs of people who have intellectual disabilities through psychological therapies and is designed to inform professionals, managers, commissioners, carers and service users as to what is available, what intervention may best help, and what the likely outcomes are for people with intellectual disabilities.
We are pleased to highlight Chapter 4 which features Cognitive Analytic Therapy and has been written by ACAT Members, Julie Lloyd and Beth Greenhill together with Kieron Beard.
