We are looking for an experienced CAT therapist to provide a two day a week CAT service in a borough-based psychological therapy service.
The team consists of experienced psychotherapists, clinical and counselling psychologists, a family therapist and a peer support worker, with good admin support. The team provides a psychological treatment service as part of the SLaM adult secondary care mental health service in the London borough of Lewisham.
We are part of one of the largest mental health trusts in the UK with good access to research and teaching facilities. The members of our team have a variety of therapy interests including cognitive, psychodynamic, systemic and group therapies.
Your work would consist of assessing cases for CAT, seeing some patients for therapy, and supervising groups of CAT trainees who would see the bulk of the patients. Two other therapists in the department are CAT trained and you would liaise with them also, but you would lead the CAT service. You would develop good links with local CAT training courses. You would receive clinical supervision from senior CAT therapist, Jessie Emilion.
You will be qualified as a CAT therapist and be eligible for membership of the BPC or UKCP.
You will be committed to helping people with significant and complex mental health problems. People who live in Lewisham come from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and we would welcome applicants who would be stimulated by the challenge that this presents to traditional methods of service delivery.
