Course Aims
About the course presenters
Elisabeth Mason – Elisabeth is a clinical psychologist working in the NHS and with a small private practice. She is a CAT therapist, supervisor and trainer and also trained in systemic practice. In her NHS work she works with people experiencing severe and complex mental health difficulties, where she uses CAT in psychological therapy and in team consultation and supervision. She is part of the course team for the local CAT practitioner course.
Dahlia Maslin - Dahlia worked for the NHS, in tertiary and secondary mental health care, for 19 years and was accredited as a Cognitive Analytic Therapist in Feb 2015. Between 2005 and 2016 she worked full time as a Community Mental Health Nurse. Dahlia used her understanding of CAT principles and techniques to inform her ‘everyday work’ as care coordinator, to support clients to reformulate and recognise their own relational patterns, sometimes this would be about their relationships with ‘help’ and services. Dahlia also found CAT an invaluable tool in Supervision (both giving and receiving). Since being accredited, she was able to dedicate one day a week to the practice of CAT (1:1 and co-conducting the open CAT group with Dr Jane Blunden). Currently, Dahlia works as an NHS 'Diabetes Psychotherapist' within a specialist community team and has a small private practice.
