Overview of this event
In this three hour online event, Annie Nehmad will discuss current understandings of trauma, Dan Siegel’s Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) and somatic approaches based on this. She will provide a brief overview of some new therapies including the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Coherence Therapy and Memory Reconsolidation. Annie will not discuss these approaches in detail, but in terms of similarities with, and differences from, CAT, and how the Self is conceptualised. In dialogue with participants, she will invite consideration of whether and how we might broaden, enrich or modify the CAT model in the light of these therapeutic developments. The format will encourage participants to share their own expertise, knowledge, curiosity, critiques, etc., especially in relation to new therapies and conceptualisations.
