Venue: the Studio, a fully accessible venue at the heart of the Restoration Yard amidst the millennial woodlands of the Dalkeith Country Park just outside Edinburgh www.restorationyard.com
The event is open to anyone and the day will run from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Environmental Arts Therapy has its theoretical roots in Dramatherapy, Arts Psychotherapy and Eco-Psychology, spanning Jungian analytic work at one end and Object Relations at the other. The day will include a group experience of Environment Arts therapy and discussion of practising it in the NHS and links with CAT.
The trainer, Will Secretan is a Drama-Therapist and Principal Psychologist in his NHS Devon Trust
Will heads up a steering group in his NHS Trust (Devon) for clinicians doing nature-based work: this includes staff in CAMHS, in perinatal care, in secondary level clinical services and in inpatient facilities. As part of his own practice, he runs an outdoor psychotherapy group for adults in secondary tier clinical care. It is through his work that staff in his trust have begun to engage with this approach in increasing numbers.
Cost: £80 including a hot lunch and refreshments am and pm.
