Integrating CAT ideas into Eating Disorder Treatments

Dr Helen Buxton

Friday 8th November 2019 9.30am - 4.00pm

This workshop will give you an understanding of the main features of eating disorders and how CAT ideas can be used to aid formulation and inform treatment.  After this workshop participants will;

  • know some of the common interpersonal and intrapersonal patterns in those with eating disorders and how to formulate using CAT
  • understand how the Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA) incorporates CAT ideas (MANTRA is a NICE recommended treatment for anorexia nervosa)
  • know how to manage risk in this client group

Who is this workshop for?

  • those who work with clients with eating disorders and who want to increase their skill level
  • those with some CAT understanding who want to learn how to use it with this client group
  • CAT therapists working with clients with clinical or subclinical levels of eating disorders
  • CAT therapists who want to start working with this client group.
