We are looking to recruit Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioners or Psychotherapists to join our friendly team as Senior Psychological Therapists in Hampshire.
italk is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) NHS service in Hampshire, undergoing exciting and transformative expansion. Valuing CAT as an effective and compassionate approach for a wide range of clients, we want to increase its availability to the population of Hampshire, alongside the other evidence-based therapies we provide.
We can offer remote worker contracts for candidates currently out of area. Local candidates will work across a variety of community sites in Hampshire, with the opportunity for a hybrid model of working including both in person and remote working. Flexible and part-time options are also available.
As one of our Senior Psychological Therapists, you will be part of a dynamic team, receiving on-going support through regular clinical supervision and with access to frequent skills development opportunities. We are committed to the progression of our team members and our posts are formulated to allow for the development of clinical expertise in chosen clinical areas. As well as providing CAT therapy to our service users, you will support junior colleagues to reflect on their practice and develop their skills through clinical supervision on a regular basis. You will also have the opportunity to assist with staff training and CPD events.
The ideal candidate will share our values of innovation, teamwork and outstanding patient care, holding evidence of a qualification in CAT therapy and accreditation with ACAT. We also welcome applications from candidates that are experienced in delivering psychological therapy, who may have completed the foundation year of CAT training and are looking to complete their practitioner training in due course. We would encourage applications from CAT therapists who are also trained in additional evidence-based modalities such as CBT, IPT, EMDR, Counselling for Depression or Couples Therapy etc. Within the appointed role we would support CPD and professional accreditation across different therapies as required. We will also support those wishing to develop their careers by training in other recognised modalities.
Applicants should be familiar with the values of the NHS Constitution, and the visions of Southern Health; to improve patient and service user experience, to improve outcomes for patients and carers, and finally, reducing our costs to ensure that we operate in the most efficient manner possible.

italk - information for candidates:
We are a strong partnership service; comprised of a collaboration between Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust (SHFT) and Solent Mind charity. We strive to deliver a high quality, evidence-based, patient-centred therapy service to the population of Hampshire. We are commissioned by North Hampshire, West Hampshire, Southeast Hampshire and Fareham & Gosport CCGs to deliver the IAPT services in these communities.
Our service delivers a stepped care IAPT model as a partnership, with Solent Mind providing Step 2 interventions and SHFT delivering treatments at Step 3. Together, we enable over 1,500 patients each month to feel like themselves again.
Our Step 2 work includes outreach to ensure our local communities know we’re here for them when they need us, psychoeducational groups and workshops to equip patients with healthy coping skills, and guided self-help to empower patients to achieve their recovery goals independently.
Our Step 3 team enable patients to recover from common mental health conditions, using evidence-based treatments tailored to the individual needs and recovery goals of our patients. Psychological therapies that we offer include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Couples Therapy for Depression, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Counselling for Depression (CfD) and Comprehend, Cope and Connect across individual and group settings.
As we continue to expand and transform our Long-Term Health Conditions pathway, an important part of our work includes supporting individuals with a range of physical health difficulties, through individual and group programmes. This offers those who work with our team plenty of opportunities to enhance their job satisfaction by learning more about this area and developing skills in working with this population.
