Eating Disorder Service, Plymouth - 2 part time therapist vacancies

Eating Disorder Service, Plymouth is an NHS funded charity. We offer a range of NICE Guidelines recommended therapies to those with a recognised eating disorder. We currently hold two part-time therapist vacancies and are looking for new counsellors/therapists to join our friendly, enthusiastic team.

The post holder will have a caseload of up to 10 clients per week (10 paid hours - £18.50/hr, these are to be spread over 2 – 3 working days). If post-holder is qualified and has experience and able to run specific therapy groups - up to 2 hours per week (£35/hr). Benefits include funded monthly supervision, funded group analysis, funded attendance to all (expected) weekly organisational meetings - Wednesday (£12/hr), travelling expenses paid if working at an outpost, contribution to appropriate training and 6 weeks paid annual leave (pro rata to caseload).

The following requirements are specific to and essential for this post:-

• Ability to work with a maximum of 10 clients per week, with complex psychological (and often medical) issues.
• Adherence to EDS policy/boundary to offer short to medium-termed therapies (around 20 sessions)
• Understanding and adherence to BACP professional/ethical framework/boundaries
• Possess a minimum of Diploma in Counselling qualification or other equivalent professional/therapy qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualifying therapy experience
• A willingness to commit to further training to deliver NICE guidelines recommended therapies for Eating Disorders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of the internal and multi-disciplinary health care team
• Possess creativity, self-awareness and reflexivity within client work and a unified team approach
• Attendance at organisational meetings as required
• Flexibility to work at an outpost in Devon/Torbay (1 days per week) when required

The following are desirable for this post:-

• Enthusiasm and sense of humour
• Good understanding of Eating Disorders
• Previous experience working with other complex mental health issues
• Working towards or a willingness to achieve BACP, UKCP or other professional/therapy accreditation
