Dissertations and Reformulation

At the ACAT conference I spoke to various people who, like me, had recently completed dissertations and someone who was about to write one on a subject related to mine. In some cases we agreed to send each other copies. It was suggested it would be helpful if members could easily find out the titles of dissertations. At present they become known only if the author decides to re-write for the Newsletter.

I wonder if this could be done through a regular column of the Newsletter. People could be invited to send you the title and their contact details so that anyone interested could make arrangements with them for obtaining a copy - in most cases by e-mail I should think. At the moment only the markers read dissertations, and thus the considerable effort involved in researching and writing a range of topics gives little benefit to the general membership. A regular column would be a straightforward and practical method for widening awareness of the subjects covered.
