I am a CAT Psychotherapist and supervisor and long-standing member of the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapists.  Having initially trained as a medical doctor and worked for many years both in general practice and psychiatry, I subsequently trained as a CAT Psychotherapist and for the past nearly 20 years have worked in a NHS service providing a variety of therapies to people with complex psychological problems.

I have now retired from the NHS but will be continuing to do some private work as a therapist and supervisor.  I can offer time-limited therapy (either 16 or 24 session) but am also interested in providing brief therapy which would be particularly helpful for people wanting an experience of the therapeutic process, perhaps prior to embarking on a more in depth piece of work.  Having also worked with Medic Support, an organisation providing up to 6 sessions of psychotherapeutic support for junior doctors needing additional emotional support, I have been impressed by how much benefit people can gain in a relatively short time frame.

In the past I worked for five years in a service providing psychological treatment to woman during the perinatal period (both antenatally and postnatally) and I have continued to have a special interest in this field.

 

Location:             Headington, Oxford (currently only working online during pandemic)

Availability:        Have flexibility during daytime hours and some evenings
