I have worked for over fifteen years in therapeutic practice with the NHS, and build an established private practice since 2007. Since completing a research project in the NHS and finishing my job as Clinical Research Lead in Arts Therapies  in May2013 I am further developing my private practice to include supervision for professionals and cost-effective cognitive analytic therapy group-work.

I I trained for over seven years in CAT and in Mental Health Studies at the Medical School of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals in London (Kings College London) and before that in Music Therapy at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Initially trained as a professional musician at the Royal Academy of Music and subsequently working professionally as an orchestral musician, teacher and soloist, I am a member of the UKCP and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). This ensures the highest ethical standards of good clinical practice.
I can offer specialist treatments for:
Performing and Media Artists (Group and Individual),
Generalized and Social Anxiety
Depression
Eating Disorders,
Substance Abuse,
Sexual Abuse,
Forensic Assessment

Treatment when Referred by Legal Services

I provide brief and longer term CAT, CBT, counselling and psychotherapy for a whole range of psychological problems  I work integratively from a wholly client- centred approach. I apply various skills and training within the CAT model, so that each therapy is individually tailored. I specialize in time-limited CAT but I  also provide longer-term psychodynamic therapy, as this was my core training. I have also developed group cognitive analytic therapy as a cost -effective choice for time -limited, self- developmental therapy

Any of the above choices may include creative arts element, drawing or sounds at the choice of the Client. This aspect has developed through my work and research as an HPC registered music therapist and Head of Arts Therapies. Non verbal creative  aspects of therapy can help in developing emotional recognition.

I see clients in Muswell Hill, North London and at The Munro Clinic, Guy's Hospital.London SE 1.  I have successfully treated people suffering with acute and chronic anxiety, depression, panic attacks, eating disorders, relationship difficulties including gay and lesbian couples, adolescent developmental problems such as social isolation and bullying, bereavement and job loss issues. My practice is evaluated for client satisfaction. I have also undertaken couples therapy training.

Choosing the Therapist who feels right for you is important. Your therapy session is time for you to share what you feel safe enough to confide. Sometimes when thinking about starting therapy we can feel uncertain or curious about whether the person we might choose is both knowledgeable and experienced enough to be able to understand and help with our issues. You are paying a fee in order to get to grips with your own specific issues. Yet we might need reassurance that this person is robust, astute, has integrity and that none of the personal circumstances brought to therapy are either insurmountable or insignificant. I have worked as a therapist with a very wide range of clients from those suffering with eating disorders, people in gay relationships, others following major bereavement, trauma,  physical and sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, job loss, mothers dealing with children with special needs as well as with offenders in secure treatment settings.
