ACAT is moving to a new website shortly. Due to unforeseen technical issues, the launch has been postponed briefly until Tuesday, 6th May.
In preparation, this website no longer lets members renew their membership. ACAT Administration are likewise unable to process membership renewals until the new site opens.
Please do not update any personal details on your member/friend profile, as changes at this point will not be transferred to the new site.
Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming you to a new website after the Early May bank holiday.

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2003 and later as a CAT practitioner. I have many years’ experience working in NHS Adult Mental Health settings and an interest in working with people who have suffered a range of difficulties including loss, trauma, neglect and abuse, which may present itself in relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or a sense of feeling stuck. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and often use elements of this in my work as well as drawing on a range of other models including compassion based approaches, psychodynamic and cognitive approaches. I also offer CAT as a training therapy.
During my clinical psychology training and after qualifying I was drawn to the Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) model, as a way to help people think about how past experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and other people. Often without realising it we can develop ways of thinking, behaving and interacting that can be extremely helpful or good ways of coping but at other times problematic or harmful.
I find CAT is a very accessible, empowering and collaborative way of working, one where therapist and client work together to find ways to make meaningful changes within a relatively short period of time.
