Lancaster [Mandy Wildman]

I am a CAT Practitioner with extensive experience of working with a range of psychological and relational issues including depression and anxiety, stress related conditions, alcohol and drug use and eating disorders.  I also work with more difficult to explain unhappiness and loss of self and identity.  I have a special interest in working with trauma related difficulties and believe strongly that trauma can occur in so many different circumstances.  Sometimes people may feel that their particular experiences won't be perceived as traumatic or distressing  by others,  I work on the basis of accepting each persons experiences as being unique, and a valid cause to seek therapy and relief from psychological distress.

I have a long work history within the NHS, both as a clinician and as a manager.  These work roles have given me a valuable perspective on the different types of pressures we all work with these days and of how these pressures impact on our sense of self and on our personal lives.  In addition to working with a CAT model I have also had psychodynamic and group psychotherapy training and Mentalisation Based Therapy Training.  I work in a collaborative, integrative way.

Availability

I offer weekday and evening appointments and have some weekend availability by agreement.
